Operational system means system containing all such data which are generated by business in day to day routine of the business so this type of data is very common and this will be related to large number of Organisation in a similar manner because they all will be incuring similar operation and it will include data about the consumer inventory and purchase data.

Analytical system means a system which will be using the operational data of a Organisation in order to make complex business decisions and these data are complex for various types of organisation and they will be different for various kinds of organisation and they are critically using this data in the decision making process of the business.

Analytical system is made for efficient analysis of operational data in order to make various types of decisions which will be helpful in maximisation of interest of various stakeholders. Operational system is just used for day to day work and it is not having importance in critical decision making.
