Homework Answers

Answer #1

Delta Airlines’ available for sale securities are classified as (i) cash and cash equivalents and short-term investments - It includes those available for sale securities that have maturities in excess of three months but less than one year. (ii) Long term investments – It includes available for sale investments like the company’s investment in Aeromexico and its investment in GOL.

Delta Airlines does not have any trading investments and only has available-for-sale investments and held-to-maturity investments.
