What is a tenancy for years

What is a tenancy for years

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Tenancy is the relationship that arises from leasing of property. Where the terms of lease provides for a fixed period in years to use the property under lease, it is called as tenancy for years. Thus the lessee had no right to continue with the leased property after the expiry of term specified in a tenancy for years type of lease. In other words, it is presumed that lessee knows inadvance the date of termination of lease and there is no need for the lessor to issue a notice in this connection.
