Why is sustainability important multinational companies?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Sustainability is important for multinational companies because of their presence in different parts of the world. This presence in different parts of the world can make or break their reputation by what they do in each of these countries or regions. Suppose if a manufacturing company depends on Africa for its resources. If they behave irresponsibly in the African countries, exploiting their resources without benefitting the region, other shareholders and stakeholders in other parts of the world would get to know about this and hence it would be detrimental for their reputation. Hence, sustainability is very important for multinational companies.
