im looking to apply for an ivy league school for grad school like

columbia university or MIT or even NYU
as i finished by bachelors degree in
electrical engeering technology with a gpa of 3.2
BUT
i was kicked out of my college school about 9 yrs ago for bad grades in which i attented a community college and then transfer back to a 4 year school
after graduating with ana associates in business
ALSO
i have only 1 letter grade D in my trascript


im just wondering will this affect me im any way or in the future????
for my dream to go to this colleges

Generally any college will look for the gpa for admissions and most of the colleges have criteria of 50%or 60% pass percentage and also they prefer full time educated without any gaps.In this way, you might be effected.

But these kind of colleges have a SOP(statement of purpose) to be filled out at the time of admission wherein you have to specify why you are opting for that particular college.So if those colleges have no constraints of gpa and continuous education and you give a good SOP letter,there are chances of you getting in.
