A parallel plate capacitor is configured with two dielectric layers having per- mittivities of ?1 and ?2 sandwiched between two conducting plates. the con- ducting plates and dielectrics and lying on x-y plane and the thickness of the dielectrics are denoted with d1 and d2, as shown in figure below.

(a) If the Voltage on dielectric 1 and 2 is given with V1 and V2 and total voltage is V find the E1 and E2 in terms of voltage and permittivities.

(b)Calculate the energy stored in each dielectric layer.
(c)Calculate the capacitance of the system.
