Combinational Logic

Q.1 a) Complete the truth table for the 4-inputs, 16 cells LUT ( Look-up Table) and map the follwing function on the LUT. Asume ‘a’ to the MSB ( Most significant bit) and lable all inputs and outputs of the LUT.

F= a+bd

LUT

A

(MSB)

B

C

D

(LSB)

F

(output)

  1. Draw the circuit level for the above function.

Q.2 Assume that a simple diagram of a switch used in SRAM based FPGA is has four destination points (N, S, E and W) and consists of 6 pass transistors. If the North-EAST and North- South terminals of the switch are connected through PMOS transistors and the rest of the connections of other terminals use N-MOS pass transistors.

  1. Draw a simple diagram of the programmable switch

  1. Program the switch ( by placing a 1 or a 0 on the transistor gates) such that:

  • Signal is transmitted from West (W) to East ( E ) via North. To prevent any leakage current, disable all unused pass transistors.

T1=       T2=     T3=     T4=       T5=    T6

  • Signal is transmitted from West (W) to East ( E ) via southwest path. To prevent any leakage current, disable all unused pass transistors.

T1=       T2=     T3=     T4=       T5=    T6

  • Signal is transmitted from West (N) to East ( S ) via southwest path. To prevent any leakage current, disable all unused pass transistors.

T1=       T2=     T3=     T4=       T5=    T6
