how does RL circuit data (collected the voltage output / voltage inpute ratio at different frequencies) allow any stray resistance and/or inductance to be estimated

Homework Answers

Answer #1

If there is stray resistance output voltage remains constant as resistance does not changes with changing frequency.

So, we can see the change in expected output voltage and collected output voltage to get the stray resistance.

Vo = Io Ro

Changed/ collected

V'o = I'o Ro

Solving above equations we can find Rstray

if there is stray inductance then stray inductance increases as frequency increases. And as stray inductance increases output decreases and also the output voltage. Thus, we can see the difference in output voltage and can calculate the stray inductance.
