1. By removing a dependent source may effect input impedance or output impedance and some times even effect the output of a circuit.

suppose for example consider npn bipolar transistor in common emitter mode and the circuit is given by

in above circuit( ib )is a dependent current source and if we remove it we do not get any output across load and it affects output resistance also.

2.of course overall dissipated or supplied power changes by removing dependent source since it will absorb current from a circuit or deliver current to a circuit.
