If we add a series reactor( inductor ) for the
line, the distance protection response is

Answer #1

If we add series reactor ,the net reactance on the line will increase and fault current will reduce.speed of relay operation depends on fault current magnitude. As fault current reduces the response of the distance relay may be slower. For impedence, reactance relay, after adding series reactance impedence or reactance seen by the seen from the relay loacation uproar fault point will reduce and fault current will decrease as a result fault current may be less then relay pickup and it may not operate.so fault clearance will not happen .As a whole after adding series reactor the relay response may become slower.

An activated sludge system has three square reactor tanks in series (CFSTRs) that are each 60 ft wide, 60 ft long, and 18 ft deep. The engineers have decided to add a new reactor in parallel. It will be a plug flow reactor (PFR) with a depth of 18 feet and a width of 18 feet. The length is to be calculated. The flowrate of wastewater is 2 MGD and the BOD is 165 mg/L. This will be split in...

Assume that a firm wants to add staplers to their product line and sell each unit for $15. Staplers cost $5 per unit to manufacture. Assuming incremental fixed costs are $10,000, what can we say with certainty about the project? A. If 1,000 units are sold, (cash break even), the project has a negative NPV. B. Task #4 Calculating the Mean Now we need to add lines to allow us to read from the input file and calculate the mean. Create a FileReader object passing it the filename. Create a BufferedReader object passing it the FileReader object. Write a priming read to read the first line of the file. Write a loop that continues until you are at the end of the file. The body of the loop will: convert the line into a double value...
