Describe resolution in terms with Analog to Digital and Digital to Analog conversion and why these advantages when it is high and the resolution is small for this particular setting?
Resolution in terms of with Analog to Digital and Digital to Analog conversion is the smallest amount of analog signal that can be detected.
e.g, if ADC is converting 0 to 5 V analog signal to 4 dit digital signal. Then the smallest amount of analog signal that can be detected is
= 5/24 = 0.3125 V
So, the smallest change of analog signal that can be detected is 0.3125 V.
It is advantageous when resolution is high for this particular setting is that smaller change in analog signal can be detected.
It's advantage when it is small is that we need less number of bit ADC.
