if one of the resistors in the parallel Circuits were shorted, what you you expect to see happen?

Answer #1

If one of the resistors in the parallel circuit is shorted means the maximum current will passing through the shorted path while remaining elements present in the circuits are idle.and also source is shoted .

In parallel circuit all the branches have the same voltage across them.

The shorted branch has a resistance of zero.

V = IR, whatever the current, a resistance of zero implies zero voltage.

Therefore the shorted branch has no voltage across it.

Therefore none of the other branches have voltage across them.

Therefore none of the other branches that have any resistance will have any current in them.

so, current always prefers least resistance path so it goes through the shorted branch if short circuit happens in ur circuit it may cause severe damage if there is some active source connected parallel to it

Series/Parallel Circuits: When unequal resistors are connected in series across an ideal battery, the same power is dissipated in each one. the potential difference across each is the same. the equivalent resistance of the circuit is equal to the average of all the resistances. the current flowing in each is the same. the equivalent resistance of the circuit is less than that of the smallest resistor.

3) In a lab in electrical circuits, your laboratory colleague challenges you by asking you to connect a circuit with the total resistance (replacement resistance) 1 000 ?. One requirement is that you use at least three resistors, each of which is of different size, and that both serial and parallel connection must occur. Describe which resistors you used as well as clearly how to connect these. I'm new to physics, so please explain thoroughly, thank you!
