Capacitor- Capacitor is a passive electronic component which stores electrical energy in an electric field.It is formed by two conducting plates seperated by a non-conductive substrate called as dielectric.

Difference between AC and DC capacitors-

  • Construction of ac capacitors are based on films without any kind of electrolyte while in dc capacitor,it is based on electrolyte.
  • Ac capacitor have large volume and capacitance while in dc capacitor,very low capacitance and volume.
