Explain how RF/microwave amplifiers are different from op-amps or other low frequency amplifiers
RF/microwave amplifier are used to amplify signal having high frequency in the range of GHz. Whereas Op-amp amplifier are used to amplify signal of low frequency.
Microwave amplifier is used in Radar or satellite communications for power generation. If we consider klystron is low microwave frequency amplifier used for high power generation which is used for millimetres and sub-millimetres amplification. Some microwave amplifier used for low noise amplifier and power amplifier for amplification of low signal, which increases strength of this signal.
Whereas small signal amplifier used based on opamp, is used for amplification of audio signal at low frequency. As opmap having high gain, amplification of low signal gives low frequency high amplitude signal. Low frequency amplifier is used to boost the signal strength which is used for buzzer and alarm signls.
