In your previous assignment by management, you were asked to analyze performance characteristics of Wile E. Coyote's long fuse. How many times has Wile E. lit the fuse only to be thwarted by a break or failure in the fuse line. This results in a very poor BER.
Viewing the fuse as a transmission line, what changes or improvements could be made to the fuse to reduce its BER?
The thickness of the wire used in fuse could be decreased thereby decreasing the area of the wire which in turn reduces the current carrying capacity of the fuse wire and thereby improves the BER of the wire. Thus less current could flow through the fuse without causing a breakdown.
The material chosen for fuse wire should be stronger (eg: copper should be preferred over aluminum as aluminum breaks easily whereas copper doesn't).
Wire with insulation should not be used as fuse wire.
