what are the 3 types of video frames defined in the MPEG standard
Describe how motion vectors are generated and coded in MPEG standard
Describe major differences between H261 and MPEG
1)Types of video frame defined in MPEG format are:
a)MPEG-1- Plays out audio and video stream
b)MPEG-2-compress and transmit digital TV signals
c)MPEG-4-High interactivity in multimedia content for for real time delivery of coded data system.
2)Motion vector represents the motion of a block of a pixel. They are generated on the macrobloack basis and are coded and transmitted to the receiver.
One vector is used for each macroblock. Interframe coding is used to code and transmit the motion of a block of a pixel.
3) Differences between H261 and MPEG are as follows:
-MPEG used for video and audio both whereas H261 is used only for video.
-MPEG used for playing movies whereas H261 used for tele conferencing
-MPEG is ISO standard whereas H261 is ITU standard
-MPEG supports a whole range of frame sizes and frame rates(multiple of 16) whereas H261 allows 352 x 288 and half that size.
