With the aid of a simple block diagram, explain the principle of operation of an inductive proximity sensor. Answer should include the type of target that can be detected and typical sensing distances.
Inductive proximity sensor -- The sensors which is only use for the detection of metal or the only metal type target can be detected by sensor known as proximity sensor and its typical sensing distance is up to 60 mm.
Principal of operation :-- These sensor basically have an oscillator and its winding is used as a sensing face. whenever a metal object is placed in the magnetic field which is generated by the sensor the induced resulting current form an oscillation ceases and the additional load due to this output driver is operate and sensor output signal is produced.
A simple inductive proximity sensor divided into the
( sensing face )-----( oscillator )-----( output driver or trigger level signal converter )----- ( output stage )
