For a radial connection of sockets, the sockets are connected in parallel to each other right?...

For a radial connection of sockets, the sockets are connected in parallel to each other right? If yes, then why if one socket is faulty, then the next sockets won't work too? Like if they are in parallel, shouldn't they work even if there is a faulty socket? Please explain to me as clearly as you could, and even use figures if needed.
