are individually measured capacitor values (in pairs) similar to the established values connected in series and parallel, regardless of whether the pair has two similar capacitors or two distinctively different capacitors.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

1) Capacitance in Parallel in General gets added.

If two Capacitances are connected in parallel C=C1+C2

2) If Capacitances are connected in series

1/C = (1/C1) +(1/C2)

C= (C1*C2)/(C1+C2) when connected in series.

So capacitance in network varies according to above combination either in series or parallel in comparison to measuring capacitance individually.

Individual Capcitance will be differ from the established capacitance from series or parallel combination which has been well explained with help of above formulas

Three parallel plate capacitors are connected in series. These capacitors have identical geometries. However, they are filled with three different materials. The dielectric constants of the materials are 8.69, 8.06, and 8.68. It is desired to replace this series combination with a single parallel plate capacitor. Assuming that this single capacitor has the same geometry as each of the other three capacitors, determine the dielectric constant of the material with which it is filled
