Answer #1

In a research it has been revealed that Consumption of Coffee can cause Colon Cancer,

A) Demand of coffee- When consumers will get information about this then demand of coffee will decrease and shift backwards. Due to fall in demand of coffee , price and quantity of coffee will decrease. Same is shown in diagram.

B) Supply of coffee- Due to cooffee side effects , suplly will reduce by the firms and due to reduction in supply prices will increase and quantity will fall.

Question: Suppose you have been hired by a research firm trying to understand the market for Widgets (a hypothetical product). Your analysis of the data indicates that the Demand curve for Widgets is estimated to be linear and given by equation Qd = 100 – P and the Supply curve for Widgets appears to be linear as well and is estimated as Qs = 3P – 20. Graphically draw these two curves, labeling all relevant points (such as intercepts for...

A key skill in economics is the ability to use the theory of supply and demand to analyze specific markets. In this week’s discussion, you get a chance to demonstrate your ability to analyze the effects of several “shocks” to the market for coffee. Choose one of the three scenarios below. Scenario 1: Suppose that, as part of an international trade agreement, the U.S. government reduces the tariff on imported coffee. Will this affect the supply or the demand for...

5.2.1. Redraw the graph and illustrate what the effect on the market will be if a price is charged above the equilibrium price. (4) 5.2.2. At any price below the equilibrium price, the quantity demanded will be greater than the quantity supplied. This means that there is an excess demand for milk. Explain how market forces will eliminate an excess demand for milk. (2) 5.3. Calculate the equilibrium quantity and price if the quantity supplied can be represented by the...

British consumption of coffee has mushroomed over the years, leading to an increase in branded and independent cafes across the country and the rising popularity of pod and espresso machines for the kitchen. In fact, the rise in artisan coffee shops and home brewing systems has also increased expectations of quality, prompting chain stores to introduce specialist drinks to their menus. Dreams Cafe is one such shop that has capitalized on this revolutionary coffee-drinking habit of millions of people. It...

Local coffee Demand can be characterized by two types of people: Low demanders with QDL = 12 - 2PX, and high demanders with QDH = 16 - PX. The market supply curve here is QS = 600PX, supplied by many many firms. a) If there are 80 low demanders and 40 high demanders in this market, what will be the equilibrium price and quantity? What is the Consumer and Producer Surplus? b) If the Government imposes a $1 coffee tax,...
