Do you think the government should be helping people to get employed (in a macroeconomic sense, that would mean taking steps to reduce the unemployment rate) or the workers should accept it as their personal responsibility? Why? -

Yes, government should be helping people to get employed in macroeconomic sense because of following reasons:

  • People are the resource for the givernment so if they are empoyed they will behave like asset for the nation and help in increasing GDP and overall prosperity of the country.
  • If they are not employed they will be liability for the government as a whole.
  • Macroeconomic indicators like GDP, productivity, balance of trade all will be in favor if people are employed.
  • Pace at which a country is growing will increase if its human resources are properly skilled and helping in development of the nation.
