what are your thoughts about the average soldier during the Civil War? Why did they fight? Why was this war different from the earlier or even later wars in American History?

The life of an average soldier during the civil war wasn't easy at all. They faced the possibility of getting killed in a fight, but also their daily lives were full of hardships. Hunger, bad weather, poor clothing were some of the things they had to deal with.

The soldiers had made so many sacrifices to fight for their country, they were inspired to fight by patriotism, state pride. the chance for adventure and also a steady pay. Each one has his own reason to fight the war.

The US civil war was unlike any other wars. Both the sides who fought were extremely bitter and remorseless. It bought out the absolute worst in people. But it was also unique. It was probably the first truly modern war, one that bought innovation and changed the course of US history.It introduced the concept of total war,it devastated the US economy and mainly it ended in the slavery in the United States
