The idea of economists and political philosophers, whether true or false are stronger than they are generally accepted because they have a huge followers and being influencers they are able to manipulate a huge audience whether the idea turns out to be true or false.
Business people who believes that they are out of intellectual influence are often salve of the economists which are not even read becasue there are not many who are influenced after the age of 25-30 years. So the idea which civil servents or politicians which they seems to apply are from the past which they learnt mostly before 25 years of age and hence still they are slaves of economist who were in the past and may not be read now.
Sooner or later its the idea, not the vested interest which is good or bad.
