1.)Openness and accesibility: SInce transportation is there to make people's life easy hence they should be easily accesible

2.)There should be emphasis on efficiency, affordability and competitiveness. Competition implies diversity of owners, operators etc.

3.) Usage of transportation should be on a sustainable basis. This is line with the current trens of focus on environment.

4.) Extent and Ubiquity: Distribution of modes of transport should not be sparse. They should be available as pee the needs and requirememnts of people.
