Some scholars believe total devolution of power in Ghana is possible only when District Chief Executives (DCEs) Municipal Chief Executives (MCEs)/ Mayors are voted into power. How far do you agree with such viewpoint?

The growing economic prosperity and democratic political system have made Ghana a regional power in West Africa.

As said, "The total devolution of power will take place when mayors are voted into power", yes I agree with this view point.

As, mayor is always elected from the public by votes of the people.

The mayor is the representative of the central government in the district. They are responsible for the administrative function of the district.

Electing a mayor gives people the assurance that there problems are understood at ground level. Mayor is more aware of the problem of there area. Without them it will be difficult for govt to understand the needs of the citizens.
