The French New Wave refers to a film movement from the 1950s and 60s and considered to be very influential in the history of cinema. It leads to a new kind of cinema that was highly revolutionary and self-aware to mainstream filmmaking. French New Wave pioneers pushed the limits of technique applied in films. It reinvigorated cinema and provided the voice to the voiceless. French New Wave movement had shown that the good films can be made outside of the studio system with extremely small budgets. Moreover proved to the filmmakers everywhere that to make a great file the elaborate sets and expensive equipment are not a necessity; all you really require for making a great film is a vision. The new wave changed dramatically the making of films inside and outside France with the encouragement of new themes, styles, and production modes throughout the world

Wave Optics – Thin Films A thin film 4.0X10-5cm thick interfaces with air (n=1) on each its front and back surfaces and is illuminated by white light normal to its front surface. Its index of refraction is 1.5. What wavelengths within the visible spectrum will be intensified in the reflected beam? A flat thin film of material of defined refractive index and thickness (n= 1.2, t = 800 nm) lies on top of a liquid (n=2.3) and is probed by an EM wave in the liquid. The other side of the film is exposed to air. What would be the minimum angle of incidence, in radians, that the incoming wave would need to have in order to enter the film but not pass through it?

In the 1986 film Top Gun. The aircraft used in the film were given a fictional name, but the jet used in filming was the Northrop F-5E Tiger. In this scene, the director wanted a supersonic flyby, but the stunt pilot kept the speed at 300 knots (154 ?⁄?) for safety reasons. At this speed, the F-5E’s engine produces a sound with a frequency of 560 ??. What frequency would someone in the tower hear during this flyby? At a...
