American Apparel is an incorporation of online retailing business and a formar brick and mortar stores operated in California in los Angeles. It was founded in 1989 by Dov Charney who was a Canadian businessman. It was a company which vertically integrated and is considered to be one of the largest manufacturer as well as the marketers in North America. But in the ywar 2015 it was declared as a backcrupt in United states as it promised their creditor to convert debt into equity of $200 million but they failed to do so.

American Apparel was considered one the leading and the largest retail business in United states many years ago sijce it earned huge amount of profits in the wholesale business and hence they planned to expand there business feom wholesale to retailers .Since then company ranked 308th out of 500 companies in the year 2005 who were considered to be the fastest growing companies in United states. American Apparel observed the growth of around 440 percent in three years and earmed huge profit of around US $211 MILLION which helped the company to be registered in the American stock exchange. American apparel since then started to export their clothing products all over the world.
