The local union meeting is the systematic analysis of the democracy that existed in the union. The low attendance in the meeting is the primary research issues concerned in the present union. The low attendance means that the low members of union attending any meetings, which includes 5-10% of the total membership of the union. The authors are saying that low attendance is indicating that the union cannot maintain their membership. To manifest the union democracy, the locals have to try various techniques for increasing presence in the meeting. Many unions provide beer and sandwiches, movies at the end of the meetings. Some locals using penalty for not attending the meeting or using doorstep prizes.
