The most inspiring mission statement I know is Patagonia’s:

Build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire and implement solutions to the environmental crisis.

Short and to the point.

It not only acknowledges that the pursuit of excellence is the foundation of any company worth its salt.

And that hurting others for profit sucks.

But also that whatever line of business you’re in—from investing to farming—chances are you wouldn’t be able to do it if we f*cked up the planet bad enough.
