The technological barriers to suppliers in the area of e procurement include understanding and commitment to specialist software and start up fee required by the vendors that is usually beyond the financial capabilities of SMEs or the unwillingness to commit to such a high priced system. The usefulness and security issues of the system are the major concerns for the potential adopters. The widespread use of e procurement is also dependent on the availability of supporting infrastructures such as sufficient broadband coverage.

In order to overcome these challenges, it is important that government must pay more attention on the availability of infrastructure, such as It and ICT for better e procurement implementation.
