2. Research auto theft statistics for the city where you live. Is the rate of car theft higher or lower than other cities in your state, why or why not? What are the most common vehicles stolen, and why do you think those particular cars are stolen are stolen as opposed to others. Does your state law differentiate between joyriding and auto-theft, what’s the difference?

Visalia Ca , my state , has been on top in auto thefts for more than a decade . Auto theft is ab if business here.Over the last 10 years, the Visalia-Porterville area has consistently been ranked in the top 25 by the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) for auto thefts per capita. This occurs because of the carelessness of people. Mostly cars are stolen in my area . Visalia Ford and Visalia Honda are the mostly cars which have been stolen because of their high prices.

Yes, there is a difference between joy riding and auto theft. The main difference is of intention. The joy riding is simply stolen car for riding purpose . It may be permanently or temporarily. Auto theft is a crime and it is permanently stealing of car.
