The Federal Trade commission act outlaws unfair methods of competition and also the unfair acts or practices that affect commerce, badly. It covered specific activities of corporations that were deemed to be not in the public interest such as alcohol, tobacco, real estate etc.

US companies, which works on industries which comes under ftca, have to work according to their rule and regulations and have to follow their guidelines. It effects the international companies operating in america as they are competition, and must be fair
