Initially, there was no citizenship in Greece. Urban centers were emerging and trade was thriving across the frontiers. Gradually, the concept of citizenship emerged in Greece. But it was not comprehensive ones. Citizen ship was limited to those who were born in Greece, Further, slaves and women were not given citizenships. Male also must-have properties to get qualified for citizenships.

it was a landmark event in the history of democracy. it affected the other areas such as economic, and culture. People were now more inclined towards their rights and interests. Thus, the male had a dominating role in society. Male used to take all decisions. Women, slaves etc had defined the role in society. These groups even debarred from political and economic rights.
