Everyday, five collegues have their lunch together. We do know that they do eat almost same amount of food. How should they pay the bill? Why?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

As it is mentioned that the 5 colleagues have their lunch together every day. And also it is mentioned that they do eat the same amount of food. So, there are 2 ways in which they can pay the bill-

1. Split the bill amount equally every day-

So, as they have the same amount of food, they should pay an equal amount and contribute equally to the bill. So, the final amount of bill should be distributed in 5 parts and each one should give their share.

2. The second way is that one person can pay the bill for 5 people every day and the next day, the next person shall pay the bill. On the 5th day, the 5th person should pay the bill and it should continue in a cyclic way. This way also, the bill will be distributed equally.
