As the civil rights movement progressed the music followed. When a protest would take place an artist would follow suit with a song to help push the movement.

1) You can see this in after the Brown trial Chuck Berry sang "School Days".

2) A second form is during sit ins "girl groups" would help sing along with. One of these groups is The Shirelles. 3)Third, Bob Dylan writing "Only a Pawn in Their Game" in response to the murder of civil rights leader Medgar Evers.
