why is there a teacher shortage in Texas?

If the compensation paid for the service is less than the equilibrium i.e. the point where the demand and supply are equal. the demand will be high and supply will be less. that will lead to a shortage in the market.

So, we can say that the wages or the salary which the teachers are getting for their services are less that is why there is a shortage of teachers in the texas, as the wages increase the number of teachers in the market will increase and that decrease the shortage.
