Explain the difference of time spent in market and household between married couples and single moms/dads

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Married couples can afford to spend more time at household because both the members are generally contributing as income for the family. Hence they can spend more time at the household and less at the market.

Single moms and dads on the other hand are lone providers at their respective homes and hence have to make sure that they bring home sufficient income to be able to sustain the household expenses. This makes the single parents spend more time at the market and lesser at the household.
