• It increases efficiency in governance at local level by reducing time taken to deliver services.
• it makes government departments easily accessible.
• it reduces instances of corruptions.
• it reduces the cost of disbursing government services to public

Challenges:

• Electronic governance is not easy to understand , thus local government has to make expenditure on educating public about it.
• Instances of intruding and virus can create problem for government.
• People private information can be stolen by some unscrupulous elements.
