Is Bitcoin follow the Barter myth or modern money?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The bitcoin follows the modern money like being a medium of exchange, account of value and store of value.

In the barter system we needed a double co incidence of want to trade with anyone in the market but bitcoin can be used as mediium of exchange and they are widely accepted at some platforms in the market. They can also be used a store of value i.e. the bitcoin will not loose its value of they are stored for a long time. Moreover, unlike the goods used in the barter the bitcoin can be used to assign a value of the goods and services in the market, therefore it can be used as a unit of account.
