• Why did the British not take control of Siam as they had Burma?

British did not take control of Siamese as they had Burma. British had signed treaty with king of Siamese and got lots of concessions and tariffs tree movement of British good,

Further, French were on eastern border of Siam, Thus, kingdom of Siam acted as buffer state. European powers were not in favor conflict in this region as their other colonies were running smoothly. French and British tried to exert their influence in border areas of Siam but did not enter inside.
