Botswana declared the nationwide lockdown and the closure of border as an early measure. Following are the problems faced by Botswana during COVID 19:

1. Significant Unemployment aroused due to Economic contraction. Informal workers and those who vulnerably employed need greater protection.

2. The economy contracted by 13.1 %. Due to COVID 19 mining, hotel and restaurant, trade, manufacturing, social and personal services and transport and communication were badly affected.

3. The disabled, those facing Domestic violence, women, children, Unemployed youth, migrants, detainees, and people living with HIV AIDS faced a challenging set of burden due to COVID 19.

During COVID 19, the biggest challenges that were faced by the country were:

1. Protecting health services and system

2. Social protection and ensuring basic services

3. Protecting jobs, SMEs most vulnerable and productive sectors.
