Answer #1

Trump administration has proposed providing subsidies for coal and nuclear plants. Coal and nuclear plants are suffering losses and ready for premature retirements. Trump administration has extended arguments that these industries of plants are backbone of energy mix in USA. Closing of these plants would make energy security highly vulnerable. Thus, government must roll out bailout package.

But these arguments by government are not most convincing. it will waste taxpayer money and high cost might result in economy. Further, Coal and nuclear plants must be replaced by solar and clean energy. Coal and nuclear plants have devastating implications for environmental facilities. Thus, Critiques argue that these plants should not be funded by government since these plants are losing their relevance, instead government must make investment in clean energies.

In order to counter Iran, the Trump Administration has been significantly increasing the number of troops and military hardware stationed in the Middle East. There is debate among foreign policy makers as to whether large increases to the military presence in the Middle East will work successfully in terms of encouraging Iran to back down. Let’s assume that the president’s utility if the continued military increase is successful is 24,000. However, if the continued increase is unsuccessful, the president’s utility...

Helium-3 (He3) has potential to be used as fuel in future nuclear fusion power plants. It would produce a clean fusion process, leaving little of the radioactive waste that plagues nuclear fission. But Helium-3 is found rarely on Earth and is therefore worth $16 million dollars per kilo. With prices like that, resource extraction on the Moon all of a sudden becomes a fairly reasonable economic activity to pursue. Several governments have subsequently signaled their intention to go to the...

One hundred years in the future, waste from nuclear power plants has built up to unmanageable quantities. In an effort to get rid of the stuff, a mission is being planned to remove the waste from the Earth in a spacecraft and chuck it into space. Setting aside the fact that it’s probably a really stupid idea to put a large amount of highly dangerous stuff on top of a big column of explosives, the question arises as to where...

Calculate the waste heat emitted by each (in megawatts) b. If the cooling water used for the nuclear plant were required to only rise in temperature by 2o C after it absorbs the waste heat, how much water per hour would be required to cool the nuclear plant (in cubic...
