Evaluate, analyze and critique how your Mahatma Gandhis behaviors and characteristics (as a leader) affected his followers and the impact it had on the nation.

Mahatma Gandhi had been an inspirational and transformation leader who had exemplary behavior in terms of leading people from the front, self-practicing the principles that he asked his followers to do. He as a leader, always remained to the side of non-violent movement while fighting for the independence of country India. He had the charisma as an important characteristic of the transformation leader that convince huge number of people across the country to follow the line of Ahinsa and remained with it. It made the nation to rise above the level of caste, religion and geographical areas to unite and fight against the British ruling in the country of India. It helped Mahatma Gandhi to run different movements in the country at different time frame against the atrocities of the British rule and finally helped the country become independent on 15th August, 1947. It made him the father of the nation in India and is still liked, followed and loved by the country of India. So, his impact and his self practiced principles are still considered as a barometer for the present day rules in terms of their policies. The present day policies are still compared as what policies could be followed by Mahatma Gandhi if he was alive today.

Though, there are some controversies also and it is not about his leadership or behavior or his impact, rather it is about the Indo-Pak division that was mutely affirmed by Mahatma Gandhi. As the nation understands today, the partition could be prevented if Mahatma Gandhi could work upon it proactively. Further, the lack of due importance to other leaders who followed otherwise such as Subhash Chandra Bose. On this aspect, Mahatma Gandhi can be assessed in a way that if alternative means could bring independence before 1947. So, some issues remain to be there with Mahatma Gandhi. But, it does not affect the legacy, leadership, sacrifice and role played by Mahatma Gandhi in the fight for independence of India.
