I have the following question. Which of the following activities would give most students positive utility?

a - receiving a prestigious scholarship

b - buying a new TV or music player

c- taking a university course that is both academically challenging and enlightening

d - coking and eating your favorite type of food

e - beautiful weather on a day that you have off your work or school

I think that "a" and "c" should be definitely included. However, I am confused about "e". Does it add something to the student` s utility?

Ans ) Option A , Option C and Option E

Option A and C are definitely the correct answers as these directly relate to the students and increase their utility.

Option "E" would also be included as the answer and the reason for this is that when a student takes off from school and stays at home then he is better able to enjoy the good weather rather than going to school. The similar logic applies for the person going to office as he is not able to enjoy the weather working in the office.

When the student takes off, he can fully enjoy the weather the whole day and this increases his utility. So the option "E" must be definitely included as the answer.
