What is the difference between primary research and secondary research? Are both types of research necessary to complete a full feasibility analysis?

Primary research is the type of research where the data is collected which has not been collected before and this can be done using techniques like questionnaires focus groups etc. Secondary research is a type of research where the data is gathered from already collected sources such as journal papers etc. Yes, it can be mentioned that both types of research are necessary to be collected to complete a full feasibility analysis because of the fact that the data has to be gathered to do an actual analysis of the reality and then test it whether it gives similar results or not using the secondary data .
