Healthcare organizations are dealing with conflicting priorities. There are high-quality issues, maintaining security, ensuring patient's safety and preventing infections.

The five major challenges are as follows;

1) Financial challenges and productivity: the challenge is to do more with fewer resources without compromising with the quality.

2) Maintaining patient safety: Reducing the risk of infection and other potential risks.

3) Regulatory standards and emerging energy mandates: Noncompliance with regulatory standards leads to reducing the quality of care, safety issues etc.

4) Hospital security: Violence, infant abduction, patient wandering etc are major concerns.

5) Patient satisfaction: It can affect hospital's revenue in case the hospital management is not operating properly. Hence, improved infrastructure and management is required.
