There is no difference between peer reviewed articles and journalistic articles that you find in the new york times. True or false?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

False.

Peer reviewed articles are scholarly articles being written by the experts in a particular field. These articles include in depth analysis using various data interpretation techniques, wide use of jargons and typically in a very formally documented way with citations and more to it.

On the other hand, journalistic articles mainly covers up a news story and it tries to maintain the simplicity by including intuitive analysis which the reader can very much relate to. It's short and conveys the message efficiently. Citations, etc aren't needed, of course sources are mentioned. The very purpose and layout of a journalistic article is very different from peer reviewed articles. Therefore the statement is false.

Hope this helps. Do hit the thumbs up. Cheers!
