Businesses collect and store data on us all of the time. They use this data in marketing, providing products and services and conducting business with us. Have you ever thought about all the places where your information might be stored digitally? Think about the myriads of databases out there that might be capturing and storing your information as you conduct transactions over the internet or even locally where you visit your doctor, dentist or banker. Virtually all organizations and companies store data electronically these days. Therefore, it is a good idea to at least be aware of where your information is, what information is being stored about you and how the information is being used and/or shared. What are some of the places your data is stored that you might not readily think about?

Do you think your privacy is protected?

Do you have a specific practice around this?

Discuss your response to these questions. Provide real-life examples.
