Often business leaders focus so much on strategic planning and day-to-day activities that they can lose sight of the organization's heart–the mission and the principles. HR, as experts in organization and talent, should "re-ground" business leaders in the vision of what is the purpose of the organization and the principles that motivate the attitudes and actions of the employees. HR will refocus the company on what's critical in initiating conversations with the leadership team, and rekindle the vision and values.

A toxic culture will de-rack the best of strategies. A great culture makes the right strategic vision and plan highly possible. Leaders have to carefully think about how the culture of their organization aligns and supports their strategy.
As the only role with a corporate view of the success and productivity of workers, HR is ideally positioned to create the right discussions about the current culture and how the culture may need to change to support the strategy.

While financial goals of the organization are often at the forefront and the center of a top-level strategy, priorities for people and talent are equally important in most organizations. These could include recruiting and retaining top talent, developing new core skills, or improving diversity and inclusion–all guided or assisted in some way by HR. HR should make sure that the corporate approach tackles creativity and people issues head-on.

Human resources communications are used to relay information from administrators to workers. This knowledge relates to corporate policies or objectives. Effective communication increases productivity that benefits both the employees and the business. To create a positive work atmosphere, proper communication strategies will raise employee morale. Positive communication practices create a working atmosphere that reduces the turnover of the employees. Keeping experienced employees inside the organization is important to help train and instruct others.
