1 Because they prefer paid subscription as they have to make money. 10 articles give sufficient incentive for people to pay for subscription because they get good experience about the service from reading certain articles.

2 Again the aim is to attract buyers towards paid membership so that the journal makes enough money. The aim is same as that of NY times but strategy is little bit different

3 It makes money through advertisements.

4 Because many many readers still prefer physical copy over digital one because for them it gives greater satisfaction and is easy to read
